Questions?
What women’s health services do you offer in North Wales?
We provide comprehensive women’s health care, including period reviews, cervical screening (smear tests), fertility advice, contraceptive counselling, perimenopause and menopause support, HRT prescribing, and hormonal blood testing.
How often should I have a cervical screening (smear test)?
NHS guidelines recommend cervical screening every 3 years for ages 25–49 and every 5 years for ages 50–64. At zenvité, we can also accommodate private smear tests on your preferred schedule.
What are the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause?
Common symptoms include hot flushes, night sweats, brain fog, mood changes or anxiety, vaginal dryness, sleep disruption, low libido, and joint pain. Symptoms vary widely in type and severity.
Can you prescribe HRT and manage follow-up care?
Yes — our GPs specialise in menopause care and can prescribe HRT tailored to your needs. We handle initial consultations, hormone testing, prescription, and ongoing reviews to optimise your treatment.
What treatment is available for heavy or painful periods?
We assess underlying causes through history, examination, and blood tests (e.g. iron levels, thyroid). Treatment options may include hormonal therapies, pain management strategies, lifestyle modifications, or referral for ultrasound.
Do you offer fertility testing or pre-conception advice?
Yes — we provide hormonal blood tests (AMH, FSH, thyroid), lifestyle and dietary advice, and can refer you to fertility specialists if needed. Our goal is to optimise your health before conception.
How do I choose the right contraception?
We discuss your medical history, lifestyle, goals, and preferences to recommend options like pill, IUS/IUD, implant, injection, or barrier methods. You’ll leave with a personalised contraception plan. Please note we do not currently fit IUS/IUD.
Can I have a blood test for female hormones?
Absolutely. Our private hormone panels can measure oestrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, thyroid, and iron levels to help diagnose imbalances and guide treatment.
What if I’m worried about bone health after menopause?
Menopause increases bone loss risk. We can evaluate your bone health via risk assessment, arrange a DEXA scan referral, and discuss lifestyle, dietary calcium, vitamin D, and HRT to protect your bones.
How do I book a women’s health appointment?
You can book online via our website or call our North Wales clinic on 0330 043 5003. Appointments include private GP consultations dedicated to your specific women’s health needs.
